How much does Paysafe charge a U.S. business to process cards?
Summary
Paysafe's published standard price for U.S. businesses is interchange and card-network dues at cost, plus 0.50% and $0.10 per transaction, a $7.95 customer service charge, and $25 per chargeback. Merchants may qualify for lower rates depending on business category, processing volume and risk score.
What 0.50% + 10¢ comes to
Take a store running $20,000 a month in card sales at a $50 average ticket, or 400 transactions. Paysafe's own charges are $100 in markup, $40 in per-transaction fees and $7.95 for customer service, $147.95 in all, which is 0.74% of sales. At a $20 average ticket the same $20,000 is 1,000 transactions, the per-transaction line becomes $100, and Paysafe's share rises to $207.95, or 1.04%. Interchange and assessments are added on top in both cases, and those vary by card type, capture method and business type.
The page does not say whether the $7.95 is charged monthly. It says nothing about contract length, early termination, setup, PCI or statement fees, monthly minimums, or deposit timing either.
Two Paysafe companies, two lists of banks
The footer on Paysafe's U.S. pages names two entities with different sponsor banks:
- Paysafe Payment Processing Solutions LLC, a registered ISO of Deutsche Bank AG (New York), Citizens Bank, PNC Bank, Key Bank, Woodforest National Bank, BMO Harris Bank and Merrick Bank
- Paysafe Merchant Services Corp., a registered ISO/MSP of Fifth Third Bank, Citizens Bank, PNC Bank and Merrick Bank
The small-business pages promise next-day funding, Clover integration and a cash discount program. Besides Clover, Paysafe offers SwipeSimple and Valor PayTech for point of sale.
Where Skrill and Neteller fit
In its interim report on Form 6-K filed in August 2025, Paysafe describes two lines of business, Merchant Solutions and Digital Wallets. Skrill and Neteller are the wallets, used by consumers to pay and get paid online. The same report records a February 2025 agreement to sell substantially all of the assets of its direct marketing payment processing business, which had been part of Merchant Solutions.
The Paysafe merchant operating guide that turns up in searches is the European Acquiring Merchant Operating Guide (version 2.4, updated January 2023). It covers EEA and UK strong customer authentication rules.
